Not a banknote in any functional sense. The World Bank of Wildlife "Sovereign" series is a Czech collectible issued by a private novelty publisher — Sběratel is the Czech word for "collector," and that audience is the intended one. These pieces have no monetary authority behind them, no legal tender status anywhere, and were sold directly to hobbyists and gift buyers. The engraving by Matej Gabris gives the intaglio work a degree of craft that lifts it above typical souvenir paper, and the Knotkových design studio has a background in serious philatelic and numismatic artwork.
