G+D's Leipzig facility has handled Tajik banknote production across multiple series, giving the output a consistent technical baseline.
The Somoni itself was introduced in 2000, replacing the transitional Tajik Ruble at a rate of 1:1000, a reform tied directly to the country's effort to stabilize after the civil war of the 1990s.
