| Obverse description | At centre, an intaglio portrait of Abu Ibrohim Ismoili ibni Ahmad Somonī (849–907), founder of the Samanid state and emir of Transoxiana and Khorasan, is set against a multicolour guilloche underprint. To the left, the Mausoleum of Ismoili Somonī in Bukhara is rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. Tajik Cyrillic inscriptions along the upper and lower margins identify the issuing authority and the denomination. |
