Obverse description Black intaglio on multicolour underprint. A vignette of a caoutchouc (rubber) harvest scene occupies the left portion of the note, while the face value in both numerals and letters is centred, with the issuer's name inscribed across the top. The overall design reflects the engraved style characteristic of American Bank Note Company issues of the period.
Obverse lettering LIMA, 31 DE MARZO DE 1933. EL BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR 100 CIEN SOLES DE ORO DE ACUERDO CON LA LEY nº 7137
(Translation: Lima, March 31st, 1933. The Central Reserve Bank of Peru will pay to the bearer One Hundred Soles de Oro in accordance with Law No. 7137)
Reverse description Printed in orange. The central vignette presents a steam locomotive in motion, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The issuer's name appears across the top, with the face value expressed in numerals on either side of the central vignette and in full lettering below.
