The legend 'OZBEKISTON MARKAZIY BANKI' curves along the upper periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded border. The fineness designation 'Ag 999,9' appears at the lower left and the weight '31,1 gr' at the lower right, with the date '2001' inscribed in the lower exergual area. Additional information

Issued in 2001 to mark the tenth anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence from the Soviet Union, this coin belongs to a broader commemorative program through which the Central Bank began establishing a numismatic identity for the young republic during its first decade. The Tashkent clock tower itself was built during the Soviet period and became one of the city's most recognizable landmarks — an irony not lost on collectors that it anchors an independence anniversary issue.
