| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Uganda occupies the central field, featuring a shield supported by a Uganda kob on the left and a grey crowned crane on the right, with a sun motif at the shield's centre and a scroll bearing the national motto at the base. The legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '100 SHILLINGS' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The national motto 'FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY' appears on the scroll beneath the shield. The design is rendered in high relief against a smooth field, bordered by a beaded inner circle. |

Uganda's shilling coinage of the early 2000s shifted toward steel as nickel costs rose, a practical response to the chronic undervaluation of circulating coins relative to their metal content — a problem that had plagued East African monetary systems since the 1990s. The snake motif on this denomination was part of a broader wildlife series that gave Ugandan coinage some of its more distinctive imagery of the post-Amin period.
