正面描述 The obverse features the coat of arms of Uganda prominently centered in the field, depicting a kob antelope to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, both supporting a central shield adorned with a traditional drum and the River Nile. The date is divided on either side of the arms, with '20' to the left and '10' to the right. The legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, while '100 SHILLINGS' curves along the lower border. A ribbon below the shield bears the national motto 'FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY.' The design is rendered in high relief against a polished mirror field.

背面描述 The reverse displays a full-color photographic-style depiction of a grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) seated and facing the viewer in a naturalistic outdoor setting, rendered across the entire central field with vivid polychrome coloring. The bear is portrayed in a powerful, upright posture against a muted landscape background. The legend 'MAN EATERS' arcs along the upper border in raised Latin lettering, while 'GRIZZLY BEAR' curves along the lower border within a polished silver rim. The color application extends to the full inner disc, contrasting sharply with the milled metallic border.

附加信息

Uganda has issued a long-running series of large-format silver-plated wildlife pieces aimed squarely at the souvenir and novelty collector market rather than numismatists. The grizzly bear has no ecological connection to Uganda whatsoever — it is native to North America — which places this firmly in the category of fantasy-theme issues that use an African issuing authority as a licensing vehicle while the actual production and distribution is handled entirely by European trading companies, primarily based in Germany and Austria.

KM#344 is a commodity piece. Its silver plating is thin and prone to wear at contact points even in careful storage.
