| 正面描述 | Central field bears the national arms of Somalia: a shield displaying horizontal lines and a central five-pointed star, supported on either side by leopards rampant, the whole resting on two crossed spears and palm fronds tied with a ribbon. The date '2011' is split to either side of the supporters, with '20' to the left and '11' to the right. The legend 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination '100 SHILLINGS' is inscribed along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border. |

| 背面描述 | An adult female African elephant and her calf are depicted walking to the left across savannah grassland, with acacia trees rendered in the background and a large polished sun disc occupying the upper right field. The naturalistic design captures fine surface detail on both animals, with the calf positioned beneath and slightly behind the mother. The legend 'AFRICAN WILDLIFE' arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by raised dots, while 'ELEPHANT' runs along the lower left and '1 oz Ag 999' along the lower right, all within a raised inner circle and beaded outer border. |

Somalia's elephant bullion series has been issued annually since 2000, making it one of the longer-running African wildlife bullion programs, though the issuing authority is the Somali government in name only — production and distribution have been managed entirely by the German firm B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt in Munich. The coins have no meaningful circulation history in Somalia itself and were designed from the outset for the European bullion collector market.
The 2011 issue marks the transition year when the series began gaining broader collector traction outside Germany, partly driven by rising silver spot prices that year following the post-2008 commodity run.
