| Popis líce | The Somali national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a heraldic shield adorned with horizontal lines and a five-pointed star at its centre, supported on either side by two standing leopards facing inward. Below the shield, crossed spears and a palm frond are interlaced with a scroll, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. Somalia's Elephant series has run continuously since 1999, making it one of the longer-lived bullion programs on the continent. Each annual release carries a new reverse design, which has built a dedicated date-run collector base over the decades — a deliberate strategy borrowed from the South African Natura and Australian Lunar programs.
Struck to .9999 fineness rather than the more common .999, a specification the series adopted to compete directly with the Canadian Maple Leaf in the fine silver market.
