| 背面描述 | A full-color applied depiction of an African elephant (Loxodonta africana) dominates the inner field, shown in three-quarter view advancing toward the viewer with trunk raised and prominent tusks displayed. The colorized background renders a savannah landscape with tall grasses in the foreground, acacia trees and a body of water at middle distance, and a golden sun against a blue sky. The legend AFRICAN WILDLIFE arcs along the upper border, with ELEPHANT inscribed along the lower left, and the fineness and weight designation 1 oz Ag 999 along the lower right. The motif is set within a raised polished rim that frames the colored central scene. |

Somalia's elephant bullion series, launched in 2000, is one of the few African sovereign bullion programs with genuine secondary-market traction — partly because Somalia itself has had no functioning central government for much of the series' lifespan. The coins are produced under licensing arrangements with the Bavarian State Mint in Munich, making them German-manufactured sovereign issues in all but name.
The 2016 issue saw a design change from the prior year, which historically drives short-term collector premiums on the transitional type.
