Duncan Ndegwa served as Central Bank of Kenya's first indigenous Governor, appointed in 1967 after the departure of expatriate staff who had carried over from the colonial-era East African Currency Board. The multiple signature combinations on Pick 14 reflect staff changes in the Deputy Governor position across the series' four-year run — Ndegwa's name anchors all variants while his counterpart cycles through three different names, making signature pairing the primary tool for dating individual specimens.
Bradbury Wilkinson held the Kenya account through much of the 1960s and 1970s before De La Rue eventually absorbed much of that regional business following BW's 1986 acquisition.
