备注

Robert Kalina designed this note before he became internationally known for creating the euro banknote designs adopted in 2002. The 100 Schilling went through a longer useful life than many expected — Austria retained the Schilling until euro coins and notes replaced it on 1 January 2002, at which point redemption at the OeNB remained possible for an unlimited period, a policy Austria has maintained for all withdrawn Schilling denominations.

Printed in-house by the OeNB at its Vienna facility, the series reflects the bank's long-standing preference for domestic production over contracting to specialist security printers like De La Rue or Giesecke & Devrient.
