Pick S207 is a regional emergency issue, not a standard Bank Indonesia note — the "S" prefix in the Pick catalogue denotes a local or provisional series, and this 1960 100 Rupiah belongs to a group of notes issued under circumstances quite separate from the main Jakarta-administered currency program. Indonesia in 1960 was still managing the fallout from the regional rebellions of the late 1950s, including the PRRI-Permesta uprising, which had severely disrupted monetary circulation across the outer islands.
These provisional issues are considerably harder to locate than their mainstream counterparts, partly because distribution was geographically limited and redemption records were poorly kept.
