A banner inscribed BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA (Unity in Diversity) is held in the eagle's talons below the shield. The date of issue appears in the lower field, with the issuing authority legend BANK INDONESIA arcing beneath.

Aanvullende informatie	Issued during the Suharto New Order period, when Bank Indonesia maintained tight control over coin design and release schedules as part of a broader monetary standardization program running through the 1990s. The aluminium bronze alloy was selected partly in response to earlier nickel supply concerns and partly to reduce production costs as Indonesia's circulating coinage denominations multiplied. The 1993 issue is frequently noted by collectors as showing die deterioration in late strikes — a known production consistency issue at the Perum Peruri mint facility during this run.
