Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles is depicted centrally in the field, supported on either side by two swordfish and surmounted by a Black Parrot crest. The shield bears a scenic depiction of the Seychelles landscape with a tortoise in the base. A ribbon below the shield carries the motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS. The legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1981 flanked by pellets positioned at the lower rim.
