| 备注 |
Syndicate Bank was one of the "Canara" group of banks founded in coastal Karnataka — established in Udupi in 1925, originally as Canara Industrial and Banking Syndicate. By the time travellers cheques of this type were issued, the bank had been nationalised under India's 1969 banking nationalisation wave, which brought fourteen major private banks into state ownership in a single legislative stroke.
Specimen travellers cheques were produced for training, demonstration, and regulatory approval purposes and were never valid for encashment. The SPECIMEN overprint renders this piece formally inert, which is precisely what makes surviving examples collectible — most were pulped once their administrative purpose was served.
