Obverse description Central field displays the Lion Capital of Ashoka (the national emblem of India), depicted in three-quarter view with four lions atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra, rendered in fine relief. The motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') appears in Devanagari script beneath the emblem. The denomination '₹100' is inscribed in the lower field. The legends 'भारत' in Devanagari and 'INDIA' in Latin script flank the emblem to the left and right respectively. The entire design is encircled by a beaded border.
