Obverse description The obverse carries the denomination numeral '100' at upper left and right flanking the 'RESERVE BANK OF INDIA' header, with a central vignette of two elephants in a forest setting within an arched guilloche border. Denomination inscriptions in multiple Indian regional scripts appear in a vertical panel to the left, with 'ONE HUNDRED RUPEES' in English at lower left and 'सो रुपया' in Devanagari at lower right. A blank oval reserve for the Asoka column watermark appears at upper right, with an incorrect Hindi spelling rendered in four characters below the word 'RUPEES' at lower center.
