| Obverse description | The Maldivian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a coconut palm above a crescent and five-pointed star, flanked by two crossed national flags on staffs, with a ribbon scroll bearing an Arabic inscription below. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES arcs along the upper rim in Latin characters. The dual date ١٣٩٩ - 1979, presented in both Eastern Arabic-Indic and Western Arabic numerals, appears in the lower field beneath the arms. The IPZS mint mark is visible to the left of the scroll. The design is enclosed by a beaded border. |
