Beschrijving voorzijde The state emblem of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic occupies the central field, rendered in high relief and featuring a Soviet-influenced design with sheaves of wheat, a red star at the apex, a hammer and sickle, and the initials 'ПМР' (PMR) on a central shield. The emblem is flanked by the circular legend 'ПРИДНЕСТРОВСКИЙ РЕСПУБЛИКАНСКИЙ БАНК' (Transnistrian Republican Bank) running along the upper periphery. Below the emblem, the date '2005' is prominently displayed in the field, flanked by decorative dots, with the fineness mark 'Ag 925' to the right. The denomination '100 РУБЛЕЙ' (100 Roubles) is inscribed along the lower portion of the field, also flanked by raised dots. The coin exhibits a prooflike finish with a mirrored field contrasting against the frosted relief elements.

Aanvullende informatie

Transnistria — the narrow strip of land between the Dniester River and the Ukrainian border — declared independence from Moldova in 1990, a conflict that produced a brief war in 1992 and a frozen political status that persists today. No United Nations member state recognizes it. The Transnistrian Republican Bank nonetheless issues legal tender, including commemorative silver, for a country that officially does not exist.

This piece is part of a zodiac series — collectible by design, rarely if ever spent.
