Obverse description At centre, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia with wings lowered, enclosed within a beaded circle. The legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) appears in a semicircular inscription beneath the eagle. Along the upper rim, the denomination «СТО РУБЛЕЙ» (ONE HUNDRED ROUBLES) is inscribed, while the year of issue «2001» appears at the lower rim. To the left of the central device, the alloy designation and fineness (Au 900) are indicated; to the right, the fine metal content and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) appear.
