A prominent octagonal defensive tower with a conical roof and flag occupies the centre foreground, flanked by sections of the kremlin wall and a cluster of Orthodox churches with onion domes and crosses rising behind the fortifications on both sides. The composition conveys the historic architectural character of this medieval Russian town, rendered in a detailed graphic style typical of the Bank of Russia's commemorative city series. The gold outer ring carries the city's name ЮРЬЕВ-ПОЛЬСКИЙ (Yuryev-Polsky) inscribed along the lower arc in bold Cyrillic lettering. |
