Scrip issued by the Gulag's camp administration network for internal use within the Northern Camps labor complex — part of a broader NKVD practice of creating closed monetary systems that allowed prisoners to nominally "purchase" goods at camp kiosks while keeping their transactions entirely under administrative control. The rouble figures were theatrical; wages paid to prisoners in the late 1930s were almost entirely consumed by deductions for food, clothing, and housing costs calculated by the camp itself.

Survival rate is low. These notes were functionally destroyed or confiscated at the point of release or transfer, and the NKVD had no interest in their preservation.
