| Reverse description | The central field presents a bold bow-on perspective view of the training barque Krusenstern under full sail, rendered in high sculptural relief with fine detail in the rigging and hull. To the upper right, a portrait medallion depicts Ivan Fyodorovich Krusenstern, the celebrated Russian admiral and circumnavigator. An arc legend along the upper rim reads «И.Ф. КРУЗЕНШТЕРН» (I.F. KRUSENSTERN), identifying the subject of the portrait. Along the lower portion of the design, a ribbon cartouche bears the inscription «БАРК КРУЗЕНШТЕРН» (THE BARQUE «KRUSENSTERN»), identifying the vessel. The overall composition is executed in the detailed, monumental style characteristic of Russian large-format silver commemorative coinage of the 1990s. |
