Opmerkingen

Russia's polymer 100-Rouble note was issued specifically to commemorate the 2018 FIFA World Cup, hosted across eleven Russian cities — making it one of the few Russian Federation notes produced in polymer rather than cotton-linen paper. The Bank of Russia commissioned the substrate from a specialist foreign supplier, as domestic polymer banknote production capacity did not exist at the time of issue.

The watermark cited in most catalog entries is technically a see-through register effect rather than a conventional watermark — an artifact of how security features from paper-note tradition get relabeled when applied to polymer.
