| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Simón Bolívar facing right, rendered in high relief with fine detailing of his military uniform collar and epaulette at the truncation. An ornamental device, possibly a torch or branch, appears to the upper right of the effigy in the field. The peripheral legend in Arabic script curves along the upper portion of the coin, while the Latin inscription BOLIVAR arcs prominently across the lower field beneath the portrait.
