The denomination "Ett Hundra" is rendered in large calligraphic script flanked by rosette guilloche medallions, with "Riksdr" and "Banco" to either side. Sveriges Rikes Ständers Bank — the Riksbank's predecessor under the Estates of the Realm — operated a dual-currency system for most of the first half of the nineteenth century, in which Riksdaler Banco and Riksdaler Riksgäld circulated simultaneously but at a fixed exchange rate of 2:3. This note's face value of 100 Riksdaler Banco was therefore legally equivalent to 150 Riksdaler Riksgäld, and both denominations appear on the note precisely because both were needed for settlement purposes depending on context.
The system was consolidated when Sweden adopted the single Riksdaler Riksmynt in 1855, making this series among the last issued under the old parallel standard.
