| Opmerkingen |
Cambodia's National Bank has issued multiple distinct 100 Riel notes since the riel was restored following the catastrophic Khmer Rouge period, during which paper money was abolished entirely — the only government in modern history to eliminate currency by decree. This 2001 issue is a continuation of an established low-denomination series that in practice functions more as an occasional change note than a circulating workhorse, the 100 Riel denomination sitting well below the purchasing power most Cambodians use daily.
Chea Chanto served as Governor of the National Bank from 1998 onward, making his signature consistent across numerous issues of this period.
