Obverse description The right half of the obverse bears an intaglio portrait of Shah Reza Pahlavi in three-quarter profile facing left, in military uniform and without cap. To the left, a central vignette presents the Bank Melli Iran headquarters building set within a landscaped foreground, framed by an elaborate guilloche border with ornamental cartouches at each corner. The denomination "100 Rials" is inscribed in Persian script at the top centre, flanked by the bank title "بانک ملی ایران" and repeated serial numbers at top and bottom.

Reverse description The central vignette on the reverse presents a scenic harbour composition with a steamship and a traditional sailing dhow on calm waters, framed by palm trees and a bas-relief frieze of ancient Persian figures at the lower border. The upper portion carries the bank title "بانک ملی ایران" within an ornate guilloche panel, with an oval medallion inscribed "یک پهلوی" at centre. To the left, a rectangular cartouche displays the Lion and Sun emblem of Iran, while the denomination "صد ریال" appears in the corner panels.
