| 裏面の説明 | A detailed architectural view of the Jerusalem cityscape occupies the central field, prominently featuring the domed rooftops of religious buildings including what appears to be the Church of the Holy Sepulchre with its distinctive onion-shaped domes and a cross, set against the ancient stone walls of the Old City. The Arabic legend Al-Quds Al-Arabiyya (Arab Jerusalem) is inscribed in the lower central field beneath the architectural motif. The Latin legend ARAB JERUSALEM curves along the lower periphery of the coin. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. A beaded border frames the entire composition. |

Issued in 1975 by the Yemen Arab Republic as part of a series of commemorative gold pieces, this coin was produced during a period when Arab states were increasingly using numismatic issues as political statements following the 1973 oil embargo and the heightened international focus on Palestinian claims to Jerusalem. The Yemen Arab Republic — then a conservative, Saudi-aligned republic in the north, still a decade away from unification with the People's Democratic Republic in the south — had virtually no domestic tradition of gold coinage, and these pieces were struck almost entirely for the collector export market.
Production was handled by a European mint on contract rather than any Yemeni facility.
