Obverse description Applied countermark of a crowned 'P.M.' (Província de Moçambique) punch, engraved by Frederico Augusto de Campos, stamped into the field of a British one shilling coin issued under Queen Victoria. The countermark consists of the initials P.M. surmounted by a royal crown, impressed as an oval or circular punch mark. The host coin's obverse bears the effigy of Queen Victoria as struck at the Royal Mint, with the surrounding legend partially visible beneath the countermark.
