Issued as part of the Royal Mint's ongoing Music Legends series, this piece marks the first in that program dedicated to a band rather than a solo artist — a distinction that required negotiating rights with surviving members and the estates involved. Queen had been the subject of renewed mainstream attention following the 2018 Bohemian Rhapsody film, and the timing of this release was not incidental.
