Aanvullende informatie

The Royal Mint's Music Legends series, of which this is a part, began with a Queen issue in 2020 — the band, not the monarch — and the Elton John release followed in 2021 as the second entry. The series marked an unusual departure for an institution that had spent three and a half centuries producing primarily sovereign currency and official commemoratives. Whether bullion-adjacent collector issues bearing rock musicians belong in the same catalog as hammered sovereigns is a question the market has answered, if not the purists.

Spink reference EJ7A distinguishes this from the other formats in the Elton John release, which spanned multiple weights and finishes.
