| 表面の銘文 | ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·100 POUNDS· J.C (Translation: Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith) |
| 裏面の説明 | The allegorical figure of Britannia, helmeted and draped, stands alongside a seated lion to her right, depicted in a commanding, classical composition designed by P.J. Lynch. Britannia is rendered with fine artistic detail evoking both strength and nationhood, consistent with the long tradition of the figure on British coinage. The inscription BRITANNIA appears in the upper field above the central design, while the fineness, weight, and date legend are positioned in the lower portion of the field. The engraver's initials PJL appear within the design. |

The fifth portrait of Elizabeth II, sculpted by Jody Clark and adopted in 2015, was the first Royal Mint portrait in decades developed entirely in-house rather than by an external committee — a quiet but deliberate institutional shift. By 2021, with the queen in her 95th year, this bullion series was already being produced against an uncertain succession horizon, lending the later strikes an unintended retrospective weight.
The .9999 fineness places this issue among the purest gold coins the Royal Mint had produced to that point, a standard adopted partly to compete directly with the Canadian Maple Leaf in the investment bullion market.
