| Beschrijving keerzijde | The official COP27 conference logo occupies the left portion of the field, depicting a stylized rising sun with radiating rays above wave-like forms, symbolizing climate and environment. To the right, the bold inscription 'COP27' appears in large letters, with 'SHARM EL-SHEIKH', 'EGYPT 2022', and '6-18 November' inscribed below in diminishing type. The Latin legend 'UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE' curves along the upper periphery, while the Arabic equivalent 'مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتغير المناخى' runs along the lower periphery. |

Egypt hosted COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022, the first time the UN climate conference had been held on African soil since COP17 in Durban eleven years prior. The Central Bank issued this commemorative to mark the occasion — a relatively straightforward exercise in numismatic diplomacy, with silver at .720 fineness placing it squarely in the older European commemorative tradition rather than the .925 now common for such issues.
