The Greyhound of Richmond is the sixth release in the Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts continuation series under Charles III, drawn from the ten heraldic supporters originally associated with Henry VII and displayed at his funeral in 1509. The white greyhound specifically descends through the Beaufort line — Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII's mother, used it as a personal badge, connecting the Tudor claim to the Lancastrian inheritance.
Platinum issues in this series are struck in extremely limited quantities relative to their gold counterparts, with Royal Mint platinum bullion typically allocated to specialist dealers under tight distribution agreements.
