The Greyhound of Richmond is one of the ten heraldic beasts drawn from the supporters and badges of Henry VII and Henry VIII, popularized in the paired stone sculptures at Hampton Court Palace. Charles III's adoption of the Queen's Beasts series continuation reflects a deliberate dynastic thread — the original ten beasts were commissioned for Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation, and the Tudor Beasts now extend that lineage into his own reign.
The greyhound specifically descends through the Beaufort line to Henry VII, who used it as a personal badge.
