| Reverse description | Dynamic commemorative composition marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944. A central high-relief figure of an Allied soldier advances forward, wearing a steel helmet and combat uniform, carrying a submachine gun. The background field is densely populated with incuse and relief vignettes depicting landing craft on stylised waves, military aircraft in formation, beach obstacles, and silhouettes of advancing troops. The dates 1944 and 2024 flank the central figure in large numerals to the left and right respectively, while the inscription D-DAY appears prominently in bold letters to the lower left and the numeral 80 denotes the anniversary to the lower right. |

| Additional information |
The Normandy landings of June 1944 required the largest amphibious assault ever assembled — nearly 7,000 vessels and 160,000 troops crossing the Channel on D-Day alone. Pitcairn Islands, a British Overseas Territory with a permanent population numbering in the dozens, issues commemoratives under royal authority but has no meaningful circulation economy of its own. Coins bearing its name are produced exclusively for the collector market.
Charles III acceded following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, making this among the earlier struck commemoratives to carry his effigy on a Pitcairn issue.
