Suwarrow Atoll is an uninhabited Cook Islands territory in the northern Pacific, administered as a national park with no permanent population — making it one of the more geographically absurd issuing authorities in modern numismatics. These coins are legal tender in name only, produced entirely for the collector market by licensing arrangements common to small Pacific jurisdictions.
The Battle of Navarino, fought in October 1827, was the last major engagement decided entirely by sailing warships, and the decisive Allied destruction of the Ottoman-Egyptian fleet effectively guaranteed Greek independence.
