正面描述 The obverse features a stylized rendition of the Philippine national symbol, depicting a radiant sun with eight rays flanked by three five-pointed stars arranged in a triangular formation, all set above a central shield-like device. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas seal, incorporating the filippino lion motif with three stars, appears in the lower left field, while the bold denomination '100 PISO' is inscribed to the lower right. The arc legend 'REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS' runs along the upper rim in Latin characters. The design elements are rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with a beaded or milled border enclosing the composition.

附加信息

Mariano Ponce was a propagandist and physician who wrote under the pen name "Naning" for La Solidaridad, the reform newspaper published in Barcelona that became the intellectual engine of the Philippine independence movement in the late 1880s and 1890s. He later pivoted from pen to logistics, attempting to procure arms from Japan for the revolutionary forces — a mission that ultimately failed when the ship carrying the weapons, the Nunobiki Maru, sank in a typhoon in 1899.
