The "Ang Bagong Lipunan" (New Society) overprint on this series was Marcos's explicit branding exercise — notes issued after his 1972 declaration of martial law were required to bear the program's name, tying the currency directly to authoritarian political identity rather than simply functioning as a monetary instrument. The seal type 2 designation distinguishes it from earlier and later BSP seal variants used within the same general series, a detail that matters for accurate dating within the 1973–1978 window.
