100 Pfennigs

Wilsnack — properly Bad Wilsnack — was a small Brandenburg town whose medieval pilgrimage trade had long since dried up by the time the Weimar inflation crisis forced local authorities to print their own emergency money. This note is Notgeld in the strictest sense: the Magistrat stepping in where the Reichsbank could not keep small denominations in circulation fast enough to meet daily demand.

The 1922 issue predates the hyperinflationary peak; at this stage municipalities were still printing relatively modest denominations, before the arithmetic became absurd.
