| Obverse description | Printed on a yellow-orange ground, the obverse is centred on a large octagonal vignette enclosing the heraldic coat of arms of the City of Celle — a fortified tower gateway with a lion passant in the base, surmounted by a helm and elaborate foliate mantling in teal and black. Validity notices in decorative cartouches flank the arms on either side, and the bold Gothic-script title 'Gutschein der Stadt Celle' runs along the top margin. Below the central vignette appears the facsimile inscription 'Der Magistrat:' accompanied by two manuscript facsimile signatures. |
