Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed depiction of El Castillo, the iconic step pyramid of Chichén Itzá, occupying the gold bimetallic centre in high-relief proof finish. The pyramid is shown in perspective view emphasising its monumental staircase and tiered platforms. The denomination $100 appears at the upper left within the silver ring, while the inscription CASTILLO DE CHICHÉN ITZÁ curves along the lower periphery of the silver ring in raised Latin lettering. The state name YUCATÁN and the year 2007 are inscribed within the gold centre field alongside the Mexico City mint mark Mo.
