| Obverse description | The obverse features the Mexican national coat of arms rendered in the gold centre, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, with a serpent clasped in its beak and talon. The central device is executed in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, with the gold of the central disc contrasting dramatically against the silver ring.
