Opmerkingen

Argentina's chronic inflation through the early 1970s meant high-denomination notes like this cycled through circulation rapidly and wore out fast. The "LEY" overprint on the obverse distinguishes it from earlier issues and reflects successive legislative re-authorizations of the currency framework — a bureaucratic paper trail made visible on the banknote itself.

Casa de Moneda's chalcographic work on this series is competent but unambitious. Used examples in poor condition are the rule, not the exception.
