| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting the traditional shield divided into three sections: the upper portion showing a golden key between two landmasses and a rising sun, the lower-left section with alternating blue and white diagonal stripes symbolizing the sea, and the lower-right section bearing a royal palm tree. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a staff, and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, both bound at the base.
