Obverse description The silver centre field bears the national arms of Mexico, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus and devouring a serpent, rendered in fine detail against a plain field. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcing along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters. Decorative olive and oak branch motifs flank the lower portion of the ring, completing the heraldic composition in the standard style used across the Mexican states commemorative series.
