正面描述 The obverse features the Mexican national coat of arms rendered in high relief within the gold centre: a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rock emerging from water, with the eagle grasping a serpent in its beak and talon. The design is executed with fine Proof detail, the eagle's plumage and the serpent showing sharp, frosted relief against a mirror-polished field. Surrounding the central device, the silver outer ring bears the curved legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper arc, flanked at the base by an ornamental laurel and oak branch tied with a ribbon.

附加信息

This issue belongs to Banco de México's long-running bimetallic proof program celebrating pre-Columbian and regional Mexican culture, which produced both gold-center and silver-center variants across multiple denominations from the late 1990s into the 2000s. Mintages were tightly controlled and pieces were sold directly to collectors — virtually none entered circulation. The combination of .999 gold and .999 silver in a single coin presented genuine fabrication challenges, as differential expansion rates between the two metals required precise tolerances to prevent the center from loosening over time.
