The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 PESOS is inscribed along the lower rim. The weight designation 12 G. appears to the left and the gold fineness AU 0.917 to the right of the shield, both in the field. The design is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of Cuban commemorative gold coinage of this period. |
